“I’ve been falling like the rain, but you’ve got your umbrella in my way.”
Lots of bands flew under the radar during the mid-90’s boon of grunge rock and Dog’s Eye View, with a lighter grunge sound, was no exception to this. However, despite the fact that they had very little commercial success, “Umbrella” managed to make the soundtrack of many an angst-ridden teen flick.
“Umbrella” says, in a surprisingly eloquent manner, what most people feel when they are in love with someone who continuously rejects them. It is hard, and painful and often, as gravity draw the water to the pavement, one cannot control their emotions, even when they are rebuffed.
